My name is Margôt van Brakel. I am a keynote speaker and thinker on being human in a time in which technology and AI are fundamentally reshaping work and organizations.
For over 25 years, I have worked on the human side of organizations. With boards, executive teams and leadership groups who sense that acceleration alone is not enough — that direction, meaning and humanity are essential for sustainable change.
My work is not about technology.
It is about what it takes to be human — and to remain human — in a changing context in which technology plays an increasingly significant role.

Vision
From Homo Sapiens to Homo Conexus
Through my work, I developed the vision of Homo Conexus: a view of humanity in which performance or intellect are not central, but the capacity to connect. With oneself, with others, and with the larger whole in which technology plays a role.
In a time in which AI is becoming increasingly present, this capacity for connection is no longer a luxury, but a prerequisite.

The roots of my work
For more than 25 years, I have worked on the human side of organizations, in the context of change, leadership and technology. From the very beginning of my career, one question has been central: how do you truly bring people along when everything around them is changing?
In 2007, I founded EmpoweringPeople, driven by the conviction that sustainable transformation does not start with systems, but with people. That line continues in my work as a keynote speaker, author and thinker on the human of tomorrow.
My vision did not emerge from academia, but from practice. From conversations with board members, leaders and teams who are searching for direction, grounding and meaning in a world that continues to accelerate.
